I had brain surgery in 2014 and the neurosurgons told me i have idiopathic intracranial hypertension which was pressure on the brain they had to put me under emergency surgery for a vp shunt. Now i still suffer through severe migraines and now im 8 weeks pregnant. I take this epilepsy pill called "topiramate" aka topamax for headaches 100mg and they tried putting me on 75mg to slowly quit but headaches coming back worse so i have to go back to 100mg. Topiramate is known to maybe cause birth defects and i cant quit them and i also learned that vp shunt malfunctions are common during pregnancy which is not good at all! Im scared and just want to know if anyone else is going through this vp shunt hell during pregnancy and if they have any advice
