So I've had 5 months of being off birth control and am planning to go back on it to help regulate my period again. I wanted to put the patch on within the first 5 days of my period so I would be immediately protected. However, my period is three days late. If I just go ahead and put it on tomorrow and my period still hasn't started am I going to get one? Also, will I be protected immediately or need to wait a week?
