So this might sound stupid but I recently got put on bed rest for a short cervix. Do I have to be laying all the time or can I sit up in the chair? Can I sit and do activities at the dinner table for long/ish periods of time? I see my doctor sometime this week so I can ask him then but just wondering for now!!

I was on bed rest for high blood pressure and I was allowed to do things like that. Just had to rest.

Yes you can, they just don't want you up and moving all day, as long as you are taking it easy and not doing anything strenuous, you'll be okay. Sitting at the dinner table really shouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't push it and try to sit there for 5 hours. If you have a recliner chair that would be better for you to sit in.
