Another baby shower?

Hey ladies! Im on my second baby right now and ITS A GIRL, 16 weeks. My first was a boy and was born 2 years ago exactly. My question is would it be weird to have another big baby shower? Even though the baby is a different gender?

You'll need new things for a new baby. I had never heard of this whole controversy about having baby showers but where I live you have one every time! To me if this offends someone they don't have to come or send a gift. My Mom has spent so much money to make sure guests have great food & a fun time so for us it isn't just a hand out but a time to celebrate the baby & if people bring gifts- great if not that is just fine too! I just love having the people closest to us socializing & having fun.

I decided to have a sip and see only because everyone wanted to throw a shower for me but I already have all my clothes from my first boy. I say yes to a shower only because you are having a different gender. You could always call it a sprinkle of that makes you feel better. You always need clothes and diapers!

Go for it!  I'm having a second boy but my friends are insisting on a shower.  We're doing a diaper shower and keeping it small, but since you're having a different gender I think it's a great idea :)

I'm going to be having a second shower, but this is my husbands first baby, and his family's first grandchild so they want to be super involved. I also don't have much left from when my son was born in 2012. So I'm excited.

I have 2 boys and had a shower for both. I thought of it as more of a celebration of the baby than me getting gifts
