No one told me how intense postpartum is

I feel like there needed to be a class on postpartum, in addition to birthing and breastfeeding classes offered. We spend so much time preparing for the *birth* (which is a raunchy experience on some level no matter which way you cut it) but no time preparing for the extensive healing period.
I had an all natural birth and feel physically and emotionally l stunned from it, still.
I didn't know to expect to feel so raw, so vulnerable, so helpless. I didn't know I'd need this much support and help, that I would be on bed rest for this long, that I shouldn't even get up to get myself food or change my baby's diaper. For the sake of my family and husband whom are helping around the clock for me and our baby, I wish there was more prior awareness. You hear of postpartum depression a lot, but not of just flat out postpartum and what it looks like/what is needed. I had no idea it was so extreme! Ugh...
