Castor oil?!

Danielle
I'm OVER being pregnant! I've tried everything. Jumping jacks, walking, sex, nipple stimulation, blah blah blah. What's your castor oil story? So tempting to try it... I've heard horror stories about babies pooping in the womb but I've heard it's actually more of a coincidence in women who are over 40 weeks since babies usually poop after that anyways. I've also read that castor oil doesn't cross the placenta.

I wouldn't chance it. Walk, birth ball bouncing, sex. And nothing is going to work if baby isn't ready.

I've heard it doesn't work and can cause vomiting and diarrhea. It's best to let baby come when baby is ready.

Don't use Castor oil! It is truly awful for you and the baby. I was reading a forum yesterday about the "yoga labor inducing dance" look it up on YouTube or Babycenter.com it seems to have worked for quite a few people whose bodies were ready!! Good luck & I feel you ! 36&3 here and so ready!

No I'm no dr, but I've found that it's dangerous when women are so desperate that they take too much and not the recommended daily dosage. Anything is dangerous and can cause harm when you are taking 8T instead of the max 4T that's written on the side of the bottle. If you aren't ready it won't work, but if you really want to try it, I'd say try 1-2 doses of 1.5T MAX 6-10hrs apart, and if that doesn't work, wait a few days before trying again.

So in massage we use castor oil and a hot compress . I'd do that get a wool rag soak in castor oil. Place on desired area and use a heat pack. It will penetrate the skin .... There are also massage techniques to induce labor. Look up a therapist that specializes in prenatal massage, and make sure they have there hours put in. Also I great pampering session. I don't know what state your in but I could help recommend, people from my school travel all over the world.

My doctor told me that she had a patient that took castor oil and it defitinly put herInto labor but she had uncontrollable diarrhea allOver the table, the baby had aBowel movement in the womb because of it and the patient ended up needing an emergency c section. The baby had to have a NICU stay because she aspirated mecomium. (The bowelMovement) Now of course my doctor said that that is an extreme case but she'd rather no one chance it.
