My engagement ring

Im the one who posted a while back about my fiance proposing but not having a ring yet but my mom told me why should he get me a new one where my promise ring let him fix it so i was like ok im sure he'll upgrade me eventually so he announced our engagement on fb everyone says congratulations except some for some ppl like my sister or others who've already seen my ring laughed or commented girl cut it out you been had that. Is it really ok i still have my promise ring Should i want another ring or should i just ignore them she also called him out for only paying like 170 for the promise ring  also called him out for only paying like 160 for the promise ring
