Side Sleeper

Is it okay if your LO sleeps on her side if she is able to roll over on her back? My LO is 2.5 months and prefers to sleep on her side.  Whenever I try to put her down on her back (since its reccomended) she squirms and wakes up. Even when she falls asleep on her side and I then rotate her to her back she wakes up soon after. Anyone else have a LO that prefers his/her side? I'm scared letting her sleep this way but also want her to be able to get good comfortable sleep.
