Drinking Soda?

Question

I drink almost half a two liter of soda a day and have for years. I've toned it down, a lot, since I found out that I'm pregnant but I still drinking it. And I've read in several places that drinking soda can cause difficulties and development issues. Are any of you guys still drinking soda or have any information on the topic?

I lived off ginger ale when I was pregnant with my daughter due to hyperemisis gravidarum and she came out 6 lbs 4 oz, and is almost 13 now and super healthy. 
I think people put too much pressure on pregnant women and what they eat. If you're not at risk for gestational diabetes then I would say soda isn't going to harm you or your baby, but it does add a lot of calories so you might gain more weight than you'd have liked.

I have two healthy, above average intelligence boys who are probably made up almost entirely of Mountain Dew and fast food. I couldn't stomach anything else with my oldest and my youngest I was in school full time, and don't drink coffee.

I'm pregnant with #3 and all 3 of mine I've cut back but I LOVE mt dew. I drink 3-4 a day and my boys are fine. I would drink more then 4 a day though.

I allow myself one soda a day. It's been the hardest thing for me to give up. I'm not a doctor but I think in moderation it's fine.

I gave up caffine. 200mg or less is said to be OK. Too much caffine can cause arrthymhia in baby's heart for example.....
