Child support?

Should a father have to pay child support if he's living with the mom and baby? Only reason I'm asking is because a guy I work with is paying child support for his daughter he lives with and his daughters mom lives with him too and I thought it was a little weird.

Coming from someone who's been in that situation, yes. My parents broke up the month after I was conceived so they have never been together as long as I have been alive. My dad has NEVER paid child support and in the state of Michigan, even if the two parents live together, it is still a law. My dad got into some legal trouble last year and they kept him in jail because he owed over 1/4 million in child support. My mom, because she loves me and him, forgave him of that amount of money so he could be released from jail. It is not weird to be paying child support if you live together. It's the law.

Eh if it was us it would just come out of his paycheck to go directly into our joint bank account. Not a big deal lol.
