I am ALL FOR BREASTFEEDING! However, I don't do it.

I am 17 days away from having my 3rd child. When my first was born I tried breast feeding and after a month it just did not work out and in combination with the baby blues it was a disaster. I then made the guilty choice to formula feed. Guilty because everyone told me it was bad. My son grew up very happy, healthy, and active and is now almost 5. When my second was born I did not even consider breastfeeding and it worked for me and my family and my little girl is also a very happy, healthy, active almost 3 year old.

Yesterday I was asked by a woman if I would breastfeed my new (3rd) baby. When I just simply said no she scolded me, she went on for 15 minutes about the benefits (which I know about) and how convenient breastfeeding is as opposed to bottle feeding and how I have to do it.

This is my 3rd baby, and formula feeding was never and inconvenience to me for my other two children! When a mom chooses to breast feed of formula feed I RESPECT their choice, I never question it! Just like when a mom chooses to co-sleep or not, I RESPECT their choice and never does questioning cross my mind.

I would understand if this was my first baby and this woman was trying to get me to try something I never tried before. But I have and it did not work, and I do not want to try again. I just can't believe how she talked to me and the things she said to me!

If you breastfeed, good for you! I think it is a beautiful thing!

If you formula feed, good for you! You are doing what works for you and your family and it is also a beautiful thing!
