Small breast an issue for feeding???

Question

I'm 37 weeks along and my breast have yet to grow....well maybe a smidget but nothing that would be noticeable without the stretch marks. Is this going to negatively affect my plan for breastfeeding??? Will and when will I produce milk?

Small breasts aren't an issue, as long as your baby latches properly. The first thing your breasts will produce is colostrum, which is the most important thing for your baby to have. They will tell you to feed your child every 2-3 hours and even encourage you to wake them in the night to do so. My nurses were incredible helps and I had a lactation consultant near to help as well. Your actual milk itself won't come in for 3-5 days I believe, but the colostrum is what your baby needs most starting off. It's exhausting and difficult in a way, because you worry about how much they eat, but as long as they have the right amount of pee/poop diapers you are golden. It's best to download an app or something to keep track! Your pediatrician will probably ask about it! 😊

Your breasts will get huge once your milk comes in usually 2-3 days after u deliver. Then they will eventually go back down but you continue to make enough milk for baby. Our bodies are amazing! 😉 Good luck!

Nope! I have very small breast and once my milk came in a couple days after birth they got a little bit bigger! I'm still breastfeeding at 17months pp and 7 weeks pregnant. Not much but still....

I took a breast feeding class and our teacher looked like she still wore training bras. Her breasts were so small she actually had on no bra. Her daughter will be 2 in a month and she is still breastfeeding... Never used formula. That gave hope to me and I am a 32A 😊 I plan on breastfeeding for 24 months 💙
