Confused??

I dated my ex for 2 years, while dating him, I had a really good friend. We became closer and close the more my ex and I became farther apart emotionally. Come to find out, my friend liked me. My ex and I ended way before thanksgiving. Now my friend has confessed he likes me and I like him too. We talk, constantly. He puts a smile on my face everyday and I do the same to him. Today he completely ignores my texts and doesn't even talk to me. Why?? I'm not texting him because I dot want to be annoying. I just don't know why. Our last message was left on good terms.
