What are some of your expectations from your spouse?

If you are married or getting married what are your expectations from your spouse? These are mine:
Always have a job.
Be faithful.
Respect me.
Always go on dates.

My only requirements are that he be my friend, make me laugh, and only be intimate with me. I've always supported myself completely - so no financial requirements, I just need a partner who makes me laugh and who I can depend on emotionally. 😍😍

My list is pretty  simple:
-Stay faithful
-Don't lie
-Don't show disrespect for one another.
-Don't argue in front of anyone or in public. 
-Never fight in front of our daughter; weather it be about us or about diffrenting parenting styles.
-Never play favoritism with our children. (This is because our daughter isn't biologically his, and I was in that same situation growing up and me and my older sister were blantly treated differently then our two little sisters by our dad and his family all because he was our step dad, and I refuse to allow my daughter to go through that with anyone.)

Realistic expectations: honesty, compassion, love, responsibility. 
Some of my semi-realistic (the don't need but certainly want) expectations: regular intimacy, willingness to try new things.

My unrealistic expectations (the ones I want, but aren't really him, and generally turn into resentments): make decisions faster than an angry glacier, unexpected romance, do everything the second I'm ready to do it.

To love me everyday. To like me most days. 15-30 second hugs everyday (there's research to support that's good for meantal health) to communicate issues he may have. To show our boys how to be good men. Other than that.... Honesty and support.

Make me coffee every morning. Never run out of coffee beans. Leave he toilet seat down. Fill my car up with gas. Let me watch the Bachelor every Monday with no judgement.

Put your family first, above video games, work, and anything else.

Be faithful to me in body and mind.

Love God more than you love me, and go to church every Sunday.

Be a good example for our kids.

Help me with the dishes every once in awhile.

I think what she meant is she expects him to contribute financially to the family. If he got laid off and decided to sit on his ass instead of finding a job is not having/trying to find a job. Actively looking for one is different

I would say the same, but always have a job? If my husband got laid off, it would be tough to survive without his income; however, I would help him get back on his feet with another job asap :) I lost my job and was out of work for a month and he was amazing at helping me look for a job as well as pay for things
