Pacifiers or no ?

My family doesn't really like to use them... I'm
Not totally against them ... What's your guys opinion on them ??

I use them when my daughter will accept them. I can tell when she is tense or anxious by her body language and the paci seems to help her relax. Like previous poster said, they are believed to reduce the risk of SIDS. And I also think a lot of people are only against them because they think they are a sign of weakness or laziness, which is silly. I'm not going to deny my baby comfort because some busybody might judge me.

I'm using one because my baby will be at risk for SIDS and my doctor said pacifiers reduce the risk more than the baby sleeping on its back

I like them because breastfeeding to soothe baby is exhausting and not always possible

Your baby will decide his/her own way to soothe, and I'd rather mine soothe with a paci versus his thumb. You can take the pacifier away, not the thumb. With my daughter she started spitting her paci's out when she was four months and never would take one after that.

Pacifiers aren't the devil. There has been research that it helps to lower the risk of SIDS when babies go to sleep with them in their mouths. I wasn't sure if I wanted my son to have one or not, and you aren't "supposed " to let them have one until breastfeeding is established. But when you have a screaming baby who wants to be soothed and nothing you're doing is helping, a pacifier can be the best solution. It's not for everyone & I have friends whose babies wouldn't take a pacifier but it works wonders for my son.

My son wouldnt take one which resulted in me having to spend his first 3 months with my tit in his mouth 24/7. Lol. It would have been nice to have him use a binky instead of me sometimes. However I didnt have to go through the age 3 screaming I NEED MY SUCKY like my sister went through with my neice for a cpl months. Lol

I tried so hard for 4 months to get my boys to take one lol! They wanted no parts of it, maybe because I was BF and they only wanted the boob lol. Oh well one less thing to take away later I guess. Your baby will let you know if they want it or not.

If your baby likes them & it calms him/her down then yeah you should use it. But if he or she doesnt like them then dont
