Question about bleeding after D&C

I had a D&C last Thursday (3/3). I had light spotting for 2 days and terrible cramps. On the 3rd day (3/6), cramps pretty much ended and the bleeding got worse. I have been bleeding pretty heavily (changing my pad every 3-5 hours) and had a fair amount of clotting ever since. The clots are very dark red/almost black. Did any of you experience these symptoms? The doc told me not to be concerned unless I have fever or bleeding through a pad every hour. It's all pretty scary to me none the less. How long did your bleeding last after your D&C? Thanks!
