Second or more time moms

How did you find the first week home with baby? Did you need a lot of help from family members? Did you and your spouse go it alone? Knowing myself, I'm really feeling like I need that time to get adjusted to such a HUGE life change, and bond with my new family of three- so I have asked that family not plan to stay for longer than a day or two if they want to come see the baby right when he's born (they live 6 hours away). My mom thinks I'll change my mind and NEED her to stay for two weeks. I'm curious to know what your first few weeks looked like!
