I think it just depends on the level of disparity between the two religions and the person. As an agnostic, I think it would be really difficult for me to be in a relationship with someone with really strong beliefs, but I'd never avoid a relationship based on that alone.

I guess that depends on your spiritual practices are. If you believe that people who follow a different set of spiritual guidelines are destined for an after life of suffering, it probably won't work to partner with someone on another side of things. I'm a pagan humanist and my partner is a Methodist Christian. I was raised in church but I found myself disagreeing with many of my Sunday school lessons. If we have children I would want them to experience different spiritual practices and choose the god that is right for them.

I am in one. In my opinion, someone has to be willing to budge a little. If you are both deep rooted in your faith and traditions, I think it would be too hard. We try to do both, but with children, it's very confusing. I am more involved with my religion and we find ourselves going to my church. I would have a harder time doing as my husband does for me. It's hard, but doable.

My husband is Jewish and I was raise Christian by default, by never really religious, just more so a spiritual person. I learned a bunch about Judiasm, and we are planning to raise the kids Jewish because it's extremely important to him. He has never pressured me to convert, and I haven't yet but we keep kosher and observe holidays. It was a big learning curve for me, but worth it in the end.
