Mastitis is no joke!!!

It started early this week, a lump and pain in my left breast. I figured it was a clogged duct and tried warm/cool compresses, and tried massaging in the shower, pumping... All of it!! Well Thursday morning I woke up feeling achy, I had the chills, and was pretty nauseas. I attributed that to that lack of sleep I had the night before. But 11pm Thursday night hits and my temperature spiked to 102. Through the course of the night (even with taking Tylenol every 4 hours) my temperature stayed at 102-103.5 all night. Which means I slept probably an hour all night because of how uncomfortable I was. Noon Friday, and still no relief. We went to the ER and they diagnosed me with mastitis and gave me antibiotics. I may have an abscess in my breast now too, which would have to be drained with minor surgery. SO seriously ladies. If you have pain in your breasts, fever, and flu like symptoms- DO NOT WAIT TO BE SEEN!!! I have heard of it going septic, and in that case it would no longer be minor surgery :(
