How can we tell a close friend that...

This friend lets call her sharon introduced me to her friend shanice in december. Now shanice and i grew close and we are going abroad together in august with her parents since we are both 18 and they wont allow her to bring along another friend. How can we tell sharon that we are going without hurting her?
