Painful?!

Stretch and Sweep...
I'm 40+6 and may have to have a stretch and sweep tomorrow as this baby seems stubborn and has not chosen his birthday to come yet..
Just curious for other moms out there who have had a stretch and sweep done.. is it painful?... I got scared about it yesterday when I was told by someone they heard it is painful :-(

I had it with my daughter at 40 weeks exactly and I went into labor at 40 +4 and had her 40+5 (27 hours ) 
It was kind of painful... 
Never had it with my son

It was painful for me. But the pain stops as soon as your doctor is done. And it is quick.

It's painful but not like labor painful, just like "whoa!" Painful, it's over as soon as they are done

I didnt find it painful, I was 41 weeks and it was just a lot of pressure when my OB did it. I had bleeding, timed contractions, more pressure than ever. I finally thought I was in labor a couple hours after I went home..I went in and yes I was in labor bit not active labor (I forgot the actual term they used.. I guess it's not common for women to do that but I unfortunately had it) I had labor for 1 whole week but it wasn't active to be kept in the hospital,i was 4cm dualists and 90%effaced.. Finally at 42+2 days my water broke, I had it done with my daughter as well and the same thing happened, and they finally induced me because I started to get preeclampsia at 41 weeks with her.. Both times the sweeps showed signs of working but unfortunately never put me in full labor.. Just made me dilate and efface more... Good luck ((:
