How to know when to go to the hospital???

So I live almost an hours drive from the hospital I will be delivering at! I am still only 28 weeks but trying to plan so I know what to do when the time comes. Given my distance, how far apart should my contractions be to leave for the hospital?

When your contractions are around 5-7 mins apart I would head over, If not earlier. Def talk to your dr about how far you live, I would assume if your in labor (even early) the hospital would keep you becuase of the distance. Don't wait for your water to break, it might not (more often it doesn't) and that could lead to a road side birth!

Id say when your water breaks. But if it's anything like me... My water broke and an hour and 10 min later my son was born. The hospital we were going to was an hour away and the day he was born the weather was nasty and he would have been born in the truck because it took us 2 hours to get to the hospital.

I would say 6 minutes apart or so.  At least head to that area so you are closer.  Also, have a closer hospital mapped out for emergencies just in case.
