Should I go back to work after I have my baby?

I need some opinions...

I'm trying to decide if going back to work would be worth it after I have our baby. My husband works full-time and makes decent money but my paychecks go towards one of our bills and the rest is my spending money. 
I work part-time and bring home about $800 monthly. Daycare in our area would be about $400 monthly. So daycare would take half of my paycheck.. I also would be so nervous to send my 8 week old infant to a daycare facility. If it were up to me, I'd stay home with my baby of course but my husband talks about me going back to work constantly! Like me staying home isn't even an option...I just don't know what to do..opinions please?

I don't think u should go back to work,like u said half of your paycheck will be going to daycare. For extra$400 a month I don't think worth to leave your infant to some strangers. Good luck and hope your other half will respect that.

It's not worth it. You can budget your spending money and honestly $400 isn't much to bring home. You also need to consider other costs like transportation to and from work when figuring (gas cost or whatever). If you plan on breastfeeding it will also make it a lot harder because you will need to pump at work and drop off at the daycare and may cause supply issues.

Sounds like you haven't talked to your husband about it yet? (Or maybe you have and I'm misreading?) but definitely a conversation to be had with him. It sounds like you don't want to go back, so I would say communicate that to Him and if you can make it work on his salary alone why not? I'm choosing to go back to work because I don't want to be a stay at home mom but we also wouldn't be able to swing it financially right now.

Honestly I would definitely talk to your husband about numbers and your feelings now but hold off on any decisions until after the baby. I thought I would need to go back to work to keep my sanity but I LOVE staying at home. That's not the case with everyone though.

I have 1 year maternity as I'm in the UK.. For me personally it's not about money/ childcare costs .. I just couldn't be a stay at home mum.. It would drive me crazy.. I'm looking forward to a year off and have that bonding time but after I just couldn't give up work for my own sanity. Everyone is different .. I plan to go back part time as will be reducing my hours x

Daycare in my area for an infant is 250$ a week. Per month I make about 3k. I will work part time. But only on weekends if I can help it so I don't have to worry about that kind of thing. Maybe you could do the same?

Personally I can't wait to leave work! Lol! I love being home with baby! My boyfriend has a great job and so financially we will be fine. I couldn't imagine handing my baby over to childcare at such a young stage and my partner wouldn't allow it.

I would stay home if it was me because my paycheck is covering a bit more right now and I've always wanted to be a SAHM. It sounds like if you two are in agreement then it's the ideal situation. Also, you need to be comfortable with whoever you leave your child with. If you can't be, is it worth the frustration and stress? You'll figure it out :)
