How bad is caffeine for my baby?

I'm a full time college student who usually survives off coffee for those long, sometimes all night study sessions. & lately my husband is getting on my last nerve about not having any coffee at all because I'm pregnant. How bad is coffee for you or the baby while pregnant? Are there any alternative pick me ups I can use for the long study sessions?

All my doctors (and research that I've done) have said that up to 200 mg of caffeine a day is safe during pregnancy. For me that's a cup of coffee and a can of dr.pepper. Or maybe some iced tea. You should definitely stay away from energy drinks. But arguably you should be able to drink 2ish cups a day (depending on the size of your cup) 
During my first pregnancy I worked 2 jobs and went to school. So I didn't even regulate my caffeine whatsoever. I think I drank coffee more than water. That being said, my son was full gestation (2 days past my due date) and was 7lbs and 1 oz. no oxygen needed, his coloring was fine. He is perfect and healthy and 4 years old now. 
I wouldn't freak out over a few cups of coffee.

I avoided it the first trimester but since then have half caf or full caffeine with maxing at 2 shots of espresso a day.

200mgms(1-2cups/day) of regular coffee, (not espresso)is ok! I read an article about caffeine being a leading cause of miscarriage, after I had been drinking 2 shots of espresso everyday for the first 5 weeks of my pregnancy, so I switched to decaf lattes! Just in case! But I def wouldn't touch an energy drink!

Maybe you can cut back on it a little bit. I try not to drink more than two cups a day when I need it. And try drinking as much water as possible. It actually gives you more energy if you drink a glass of water before your coffee cause you're more hydrated.

I have drunk coffee with both my children and now this one, I just do a lighter blend and my children are just fine!

Caffeine can cause a miscarriage, low birth weight, or different syndromes in the baby. It's best to limit yourself to one cup of coffee but try to go decaf. Enjoy your coffee without any risks to the baby. I understand your love for coffee, as I love it, too. But there are ways to enjoy it without causing any harm.
