Anyone refused Glyburide & requested insulin?

Question

I absolutely refuse to take Glyburide & tomorrow my doctor might be pretty mad at me tomorrow but I refuse. 
Anyone else refuse to take something & request something else? 
I'll be put on insulin since its closest to what my body produces & it's the only true FDA approved method of treating gestational diabetes.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it...its your body and you will be giving the shots so all he/she has to do is decide on dose...I am on metformin and was on it when I got pregnant so I was fine with going back on it and I have a tough time remembering to take my sugars key alone give insulin...they might look at it as more work for them because you would have to be taught which is a lame excuse....but either way its up to you!!☺

My doctor wouldn't even do Glyburide and went straight to insulin, since like you said, it's the closest thing to what our bodies produce naturally. I don't think your doc will be mad if you want to do insulin instead of the pills. Insulin is a lot harder than popping a pill, so the doctor will know you have a good reason for choosing the harder route. I'm personally glad they stuck me on insulin, because my fasting number has been much better on the insulin. 😊

I have been on glyburide for almost a month and it's not working. Most of the time, my levels remain very high. Expect for 3 times now (at work) my blood sugar went too low and I felt like I was gonna pass out. When they told me they wanted to up my dosage again, I said no. Going to start metformin tonight and see how that goes. They gave me a choice between metformin and insulin. Figured I would try another pill first.
