Anyone rather baby shop themselves the whole pregnancy rather than depend on baby shower ?

pregnancy rather than depend on baby shower ?" /> This is My third pregnancy. I've never wanted a baby shower, I baby shopped myself just because I'm very picky and want what I want and wouldn't want to receive things I did pick out in registry. Somtimes things are over 50$ and I wouldn't want anyone to buy me something so expensive. Some say I am very ungrateful but I think I'm being fair and thoughtful to not waist someone's time and money anyone else out here like me ?

We are older and while it's nice to get gifts I hate the whole shower idea. We will register for lots of inexpensive items snd likely buy big stuff ourselves

Yes! I was that way. I just had my baby shower. My husband and mother in law literally wouldn't allow me to buy what I wanted and I pulled my hair out over it. Thankfully, my mil bought the exact pack n play I put on my registry. (They forced me to make one) but nothing else was purchased off my registry. Just like I tried to tell them it wouldn't. -.- Just buy what you want!! Then put little piddley things on your registry.

I actually wanted to skip a registry but all my family members kept telling me they wanted to help out with big items and to please send them a registry so they could pick something. So... I did one. Haha

Lol that's what we did. Not having a baby shower, we bought everything ourselves and bought everything we needed before I was even 30 weeks. It's nice to have everything done already

We are buying the larger items and more personal items like breastfeeding stuff and putting the stuff we want, but don't need on the registry.

I hear ya. Some of stuff I wanted with my daughter and will want with our next is expensive. I don't want anyone to feel like they have to buy it. I rather buy the big things and just receive little things at the baby shower like clothes,bottles etc

Might be worth it for the completion discount :) just to buy it yourself after your "expected shower" :) then at babies r us you get reward bucks too

This is my first baby and I know I'll have a baby shower thrown for me. But I wish I could tell people to not buy clothes or if they do to literally buy what's on the registry. I'm picky about clothes and I also know people would rather buy an outfit than anything else.. And to be honest I'd rather others buy me diapers at least then I could always exchange them if they weren't the right size etc. I'd mostly rather others get stuff like baby wash clothes, towels, wash, other needed items. I can't tell you how many baby showers I've gone to that I've seen people get 3-4 of the same outfit because people can't take the time to look at the registry.
