IUD yay or nay??

I am debating on whether to get an IUD or not. Would love to hear pros and cons.

I had a copper IUD for about a year. It was painful going in. It would irritate me causing pain during the month and my period. I could literally feel the metal IUD irritating me from the inside.  My period last for 2 weeks and would come early. It was very uncomfortable so I ultimately got it removed.

Have the Mirena. I love mine. The only downtown is cramps can be really painful and rough sex is out of the equation at the moment.

I'm happy with mine. I had it inserted at 8 weeks PP so it was not painful. I did go back to have the strings trimmed 3 weeks later and otherwise have had no problems.
