The American College of Pediatrics (not to be confused with the American Academy of Pediatrics) is a laughable source. Do some more research before making an accusation as serious as child abuse.

This organization is hardly legitimate and has been labled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. So unless a legitimate organization of doctors that consists of more than 200 doctors tells me the same thing, I'm going to continue respecting transgender children.

The College was founded in 2002 by a group of pediatricians including Joseph Zanga, a past president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as a protest against the AAP's support for adoption by gay couples.

So basically not a reputable organization with a clear anti LGBTQ agenda.

I don't know about the source, but I personally think that's it's wrong to have a child make a decision like that. For instance, when I was young, I literally thought I was a boy & wanted to be a boy.. As I got older, I became girly & quite happy with my sex. I think it's stages that kids go though & I would be a very sad person if my parents took it seriously & I got a sex change.

A. The suicide rate is high for those who aren't  on HRT too, the primary reason that I'm aware of as to why it's still high after being on it for a while (according to my other support groups) is that sometimes isn't enough to change the appearance to the desired degree, and we all know how expensive and even more unaffordable either cosmetic surgery or reassignment is. But sure, I see how leaving out details helps support their ideas.

B. No puberty isn't a disease. No one is saying that, but for a trans individual it's just another heart breaking thing they have to deal with. Imagen visibly getting worse and dealing with the wild hormones on top of that. For those who choose and/or can afford to do HRT, the sooner you start the better they will work. They left that out too.

C. Last I checked these guys weren't supportive of any of the LGBT+ community, not just the trans sect. I don't think supporting your child is abuse in the slightest, choosing HRT is a big decision no one makes on the fly. We have so many parents that don't even support their children with bland desires like being in drama, so any parent who accepts this is likely far from abusive. If they're forcing them to, which happens believe it or not, yeah it's abuse but doesn’t happen much in this country. Maybe let's address the fact that trans people have a high murder rate instead of suicide? Maybe addressing some psychology on why people feel they need to slaughter them would be more helpful than bitcing at attentive parents, yeah?

I am curious as to what others don't agree with in regards to what they said, other than the fact that it is abuse? I personally don't see anything I would find incorrect.
