Should I be car shopping? 3rd baby on way

I drive a VW Passat wagon. I have an 8yr old in a booster seat and 4 year old in 5pt harness seat. How would y'all arrange seating with newborn carrier carseat? 4yr old can buckle herself, so I'm thinking she can be in middle. DH and I cannot really reach into middle of car because the roof is so low.

We had this issue when I was expecting my 3rd baby as well. My oldest was in a booster, and then we bought a Diono seat which is the slimest and safest car seat!! We managed to fit all car seats across in one row. We had to really measure it out though. We have a Ford Escape so it's not super wide in the back. It worked for us, however we got a van now because we are expecting our 4th baby in June. If you can afford a van I would just automatically go to a van...with all the stuff to pack, baby gear, kids back packs etc etc the list goes on and on...you will find the space gets very tight. However if that's not an option for you, look into Diono car seats. They are the absolute slimest seat you will find.

Is the 4 year old forward facing? If so, I think that's who goes in the middle. If not, it's the infant.

I have an 8 and 4 year old too and we bought a minivan. I would hate my kids super cramped.

I would think you should be fine with your current vehicle. I would put the 4 year old in the middle as well. It would be hard on your back reaching to the middle to take baby out or a carseat out. I have to buy a new vehicle as this is #3 for me too. We have a 5 year old-style in a high back booster, an almost 2 year old, and then of course our little June bug.  I will be getting a vehicle that can seat 3 across. Unless you get a huge vehicle, 3rd row seating takes up so much of your storage space, which I need.
