Baby Name Change
I had posted this weekend about my Mamaw passing away. When we first found out that this surprise #2 was another girl, I remember talking to her on the phone that day and her giving me lots of options of family names. I just sort of blew it off, and my husband and I decided on a name. About a week ago I had started to have doubts on our name choice (something just wasn't right about it). Then all this happened with my Mamaw. Saturday when our whole family (25+ people) were there saying our goodbyes, little love was having a fit in my belly. I know she knew something was wrong. After she passed, I told my husband that I needed to change the baby's name and he surprised me when he said he felt the same. So on Sunday, we officially told our families that we had changed. My great grandmother (Mamaw's mother) was Carrie which can be used as a nickname for Carolina. Elizabeth means pledged to God. Back in our ancestry (1800's) there was a relative named Caroline Elizabeth.....and finally Faye was Mamaw's middle name and since I was named for her as well, it is also my middle name. I'm having a hard time with the fact little girl won't get to meet this very precious woman and big sister was searching for her at the house yesterday. I feel this will be a great story to tell her as she grows up and my family says Mamaw would be proud.
