First Time Worried Mummies- READ

So, our story starts back to the end of February when we found out I was pregnant! I was sure with all the symptoms I was having that my period was coming, period cramps, hungry, moody!!
But 5 pregnancy tests later- yup, I am definitely pregnant. It seems as though PMS symptoms are very much like pregnancy symptoms!

I then began to have intense cramping in my lower belly and to the left side about 5 days later, the pain was so bad at times I was crying in agony feeling the worst pain of my life. I hadn't yet been to the doctors but a couple of days later I went to confirm the pregnancy and they refered me to the Early Pregnancy Unit as they suspected an eptopic! We went, had an early scan but the pregnancy was in my womb therefore eptopic was ruled out! However, as I was so early they couldn't see much, only a pregnancy sac therefore things still may not progress... We will have to wait 2 whole weeks for another scan at 7+2 to make sure all is growing as it should...

Of course those 2 weeks did fly by and we were in having our second scan.. All was normal, baby had grown and measuring exactly as it should. We also saw the heart beat! Now to relax?!?!?!

Now at this point I had many symptoms..
- Sore nipples/breasts
- Frequent urination
- Morning sickness
- Bloat

But these seemed to be disappearing.
On 30th March, at 8+4, I started bleeding. It seemed to be light pink blood to start with along with cramping like a period once again! I, of course, panicked. Asked my other half to call the EPU as I was crying too much and to my surprise they just said 'bleeding is normal in early pregnancy, keep an eye on it and go to A&E if it worsens. This calmed me a little along with the hours of googling and I slept, not well, but to the next day.

The next day I woke to the same pink blood and discharge, also the same kind of cramping. I went into work as normal and kept an eye on it in the morning. At 10.30 I started bleeding bright red blood, along with the pink discharge and cramping. STRAIGHT TO A&E!

They were very good, admitted me to a ward and kept an eye on my temps, blood pressure etc! Took some blood and a urine sample but could not scan until the next morning. The next 12+ hours were the longest of my life, without my partner there to comfort me during the night and just wanting to make sure my baby was okay.

The next morning i still had slight bleeding and bad cramping. They scanned me at 8.15 and whilst in the room crying and preparing for the worst, the lady turned the screen and said 'They can be tears of happiness' BABY IS FINE. Heart beating away and the bleeding hadn't bothered baby at all. I was measuring 9+1 rather than 8+6 so a couple of days ahead!

The relief for both of us was amazing.
I share this with you all as I know the worry and panic I experience/d and want to at least reassure someone somewhere that cramping and bleeding can be normal in pregnancy. If you have any worries or doubts, call your midwife, GP or visit A&E.
