When the placenta takes over

Question

Ladies! Strange question but did you actually 'feel' when your placenta took over? Some say it happens week 12, some disagree. I'm still sick at week 12, but my midwife says it'll take over week 14-16. So does anyone actually 'feel' it happening? Is there a cramp or perhaps some surge of energy or indicators? Right now I need encouragement! We can do this girls! Thanks!

Just one day I wasn't nauseas honestly! It went away the next day I woke up and finally could cook dinner without getting sick!

Change came on very gradually. I was hoping i would notice it straight away but no it slowly changed.

Well i had a scan at 12 weeks and the sonographer said she could see where the placenta was so i imagine at 12 weeks because it wouldnt be there if it wasnt working surely. Im 15 weeks and still as sick as can be! So i didnt feel the change over

I never felt anything different really but my dr said around 12 weeks.

I was still sick at 12-13 weeks. Started slowly feeling better from 14-15 and a noticeable improvement at 16 weeks

Is that when you're supposed to stop getting sick?? I am 16 weeks (measuring almost 18) and I'm still sick!!!!

At 14 weeks I just noticed I wanted to actually get up and move around. I noticed I was looking for the nausea and it never came. Some days I still have it but nothing near what it was in my first trimester..

A few days before 14 weeks I realized that I was feeling hungry and not nauseated, when before I would feel hungry then immediately nauseated. I have been able to eat more, I'm still taking diclegis because I still feel sick at night but I hope I'm turning the corner.

Hang in there!! I started feeling noticeably better after 13wks... I'm now 16wks and only have occasional nausea. Huge improvement!  Hope you're feeling better soon :)
