Quit your job due to pregnancy?
Stay with me...this store is a bit long
So I work at Starbucks, and I am 9+3. My manger has been giving me the super early 4am shifts which is hard on me due to severe morning sickness. I sat down and talked to him and explained that I needed later shifts because it was easier to get myself together and get control of my morning sickness when I had a chance to sleep in a bit more. I also explained that I needed a few more days off during the week. I just can't do 40 hours per week right now.
Well he continues to schedule me the 4am shifts 5 days a week even though he said "I can work with you on your new schedule needs".
So for his past week I had a family emergency and called and told them about it and my manager said he would get my shifts covered for this week. I went mon-fri no problems. But today(satutday) when I'm still supposed to be having my shifts covered inrecieved a call(at 4am) about me not being at work.
But it wasn't just one call. They called me 8 times!! I sleep with my phone on silent because it's hard to fall asleep and I don't like to be waken up once I finally get some rest.
I'm just so mad they would call me that much! I am stressed out enough dealing with my family situation, and I feel like this is the last straw.
I'm ready to quit!
I need to worry about not only my health but the babies as well. And this level of stress I'm dealing with is only being made worse my my job. I have to do what's right for me and my unborn child.
Has anybody else had a job treat them poorly enough that they quit during pregnancy?
