Cloth diapers?!?

I am interested in cloth diapering but I would like some input from some of you ladies on which diapers you like best, why, and any info you'd like to share! Thanks!

I have cloth diapered for 13 months. I started when my son was 1 month old. I started using OS(one size) on him. He was about 8lbs at the time. I use Aios, they are just like disposable's except you wash them. I use thirsties aio hook and loop(Velcro), best bottoms(ai2's, the inserts snap in), and smartbottoms(aio). I mostly buy my diapers from Kelly's closet (free diaper codes) and Nicki's diapers(coupon code:five for 5% off). I do not use he cheap China diapers like Alva since they are not regulated. Smartbottoms are organic and made in the U.S., they are my favorite. The thirsties are my moms favorite. Good luck. Cloth diapering is so worth the effort.

I haven't used them yet- but after tons and tons and tons (and more tons) of research and recommendations from friends, I decided on blueberry capri and coverall covers with GMD prefolds and flats. I hope you find what works best for you!

Grovia prefolds have been my favorite with a thirsties or rumparooz cover. Don't forget your snappi! I recommend using disposables for the first week. My baby was too small for the prefolds until she was 9 pounds. Still waiting for my newborn to fit in her one size pocket diapers.

This will be our first time using cloth diapers, too. I have heard that prefolds and covers work great for newborns. We have two friends that used Bumgenius pocket diapers for their kids and really loved them. It sounds like it takes a little experimenting to see what diapers fit your baby the best and what system you prefer. I'm going to use disposables to get past meconium and try the little Joey newborn diapers and plan on trying out the bumgenius pocket diapers our friends like when the baby has outgrown the NB diapers.

I'm a FTM, so I got a few different types to see what will work best for us. I was advised that for newborns, prefolds and covers are super simple, because newborns won't usually soak through and you might get a couple of uses out of the cover by changing the prefold insert out only, unless the cover gets wet. So that is mainly what I got and then a few other types to test drive. Hope that helps!
