BV or unbalanced pH?

Chelsey
So I've been having an unual odor for the last month or so. This has happened once before and my body naturally corrected itself, so I felt the need to wait and see if that would happen again. Well so far it doesn't seem to be that way this time.
I know a decent amount about the health of my vagina. I pay close attention to my body and. I know how to keep everything in order. I'm almost 100% sure this is happening because I switched soap and may have gotten a little too close to my goodies while washing. But what I do not know is whether this is simply a pH imbalance or if it has escalated to bacterial vaginosis.
I have no itchiness or irritation. My discharge is somewhat abnormal but nothing extreme. Maybe just a little more yellow than usual but not too positive (it's hard to tell). The only real issue is the odor. It smells like stinky feet. Not like a yeast infection (which is typically more of a fishy smell). I can smell it when I sit in a chair. It's extremely annoying.
I do not have healthcare and I support myself. Going to the doctor for this right now really isn't an option. I've done a lot of online research and it's still inconclusive. If you know anything about distinguishing between BV and pH or how to treat it without prescriptions, please enlighten me.
