Awful weekend!!

Nicola

So it was a long weekend.

We found out about a family bereavement on Friday for my husband. Obviously my priority was to get my husband through the funeral on Tuesday in one piece, but over the weekend I thought I might have picked up a urine infection as I was very hot and cold and my pee stung a bit. As I had wall to wall meetings on Monday and the funeral on Tuesday, I paid a visit to the out of hours doctor.

He was awful basically. Tested and said no infection and asked about other symptoms. I mentioned a bit of brown spotting and round ligament cramping, but that I knew that was common. He basically told me it sounded like a miscarriage and I had to go to the emergency room like, now. He said it in the most blunt, whatever way possible. I cried and he was like "you ok?" Urgh.

Anyway four hours in the emergency room and one early scan the following day. Bb is too small to see much of. Sac is intended right place and it's a good size, but between NHS scanning equipment not being as fancy as private health, and the possibility that my dates might be wrong, she could only see a little dot that she thinks might be baby. I have to have another scan in two weeks, when I'll be eight weeks along according to my iffy dates.

Over the last few days, my extreme breast tenderness has nearly vanished, which has me really worried. However, I've gained some serious nausea and tiredness! Nearly threw up at yesterday's funeral and feeling worse again this morning! Brown spotting continues, but my mother was the exact same in both her pregnancies so she thinks I'm just gonna be like her.

Any thoughts or reassurance, guys? It's gonna be a long two weeks.

I had brown spotting at 6 weeks, no real cramping but enough for me to go and get checked. Had a transvaginal scan and they confirmed everything was fine. I actually have twins, and as you say at that stage one was very hard to see it was just a tiny blur on the screen. Spotting is normal at your stage as the implantation occurs and they told me this can be perfectly normal. Have you been assigned a midwife yet? They're generally very good at answering your concerns. Also, my symptoms have changed quite a bit too, I remember reading a post on here about someone having no nausea and thinking be grateful, as mine was horrific, but now that my symptoms have lessened I feel the same anxiety, and have waited 6 weeks for another scan so I feel your pain! Sending you love hoping all is well, stay positive 💜💙 x

thank you Mrs, that's really reassuring. I have everything crossed for the 18th and I'm just so scared. so many scans online at my stage are showing little shapes and mine was just a blurry dot. I know it might just be the quality of equipment on the NHS but it's still worrying. hope all goes well for you and thank you for stopping in
