Question

Any moms supplementing with formula also and if so what formula r u using and how is it working out? I've doing both since I'm not producing enough breast milk doc told me just to give her plain formula but I don't want to give up yet Hoping and praying my milk supply will increase

I use Enfamil newborn and LOVE it. I've tried Similac supplementing and Gerber soothe and they both constipated her.

I'm taking 13 supplements, hydrating a ton and drinking two different teas and I only get about 6oz a day. I use 3oz for her morning feed and 3oz for an evening feed and formula for the rest. This was the recommendation of my LC to help keep babys poops regular. Just because my supply is bunk doesn't mean I will stop pumping. I will give her everything I've got! :)

I'm using store brand formula. Our pediatrician said it's fine and that I don't need to use the newborn kind or anything like that. I'm in the LA area, and I'm paying about $13 for a 21-oz container of powdered formula, which lasts us about ten days. I've been consistently pumping 3-4oz per session, and my baby eats 4-6oz per feeding, so we supplement with whatever he eats that's above the amount I'm able to pump (about 2oz per feeding).

We have Nan here, and switched our baby's milk to Novalac infant milk nr1. The Nan was giving her so much gas and made her constipaded. From the weekend until yesterday, she cried almost non stop and slept max 7 hours a day. So far my day is wonderful, my baby is back to normal and is getting the sleep she needs. If you get Novalac there, it's the best, alonside similac, according to my daycare mother in law!

Always test a formula for atleast a month, before you change. Similac and Novalac is formulas that you donmt need to transition into, you can just change it.

I supplement rarely. One bottle a day, if that.  Usually only if we have a busy stressful day and I can't get enough time to pump porperly.  We were using the similac sensitive and she liked it, but she got a little rash on her booty which I read could be a sign of milk allergy, so we are trying her on the similac soy right now to see of that makes a difference.

Breast milk during the day then he gets a formula bottle at the last evening feeding and then when he wakes up at night, usually twice, he gets formula then too. He's on Enfamil Prosobee.

I supplement 1-2 bottles a day. We use Holle, it's all organic and we are very happy with it. Only catch is that it's from Germany so you have to buy in bulk. I order from organicmunchkin.com ...also heard Hipp formula is good too but a little more expensive.

I use gerber Goodstart gentle but I agree it could cause constipation. I only use 1.5 oz a bottle and she's taking 6 oz at a time so it's not much formula enough to constipate but she's tolerating it well! Any breast milk u give her is amazing 😊
