I have hairy bum cheeks!! pls help :(

but I am quite a hairy girl! the hair isn't like pubic hair it's a lot softer!!
I want to shave it but I don't want it to grow back thick and prickly!!
I get laser on my armpits but I am too embarrassed to go get my bum done lol
does anyone shave their bum cheeks? did it grow back worse?
or have you used hair removal cream?
if both of those are bad options I'm considering just waxing it myself (which will be difficult, but it makes me so uncomfortable especially around my bf)
