Life in Denver??

Question

We currently live in TX and have been thinking about moving to Denver for a while. We have a couple friends there and want a change of scenery. I know the cost of living is higher there..and they have state income tax which Texas does not. So we are wondering about finances there. He is a diesel mechanic and I am a transplant financial coordinator for hospital. What's It like living there??? Any opinions & comments appreciated. Not just financial...weather, quality of life, entertainment, education.

Just tossing this out there, Oklahoma is in desperate need of diesel techs with experience. If you find yourself wanting to look around at a more regional area you could try that.

Denver is becoming crowded and every expensive. Colorado on a whole though is a wonderful state. I lived in Denver until I was 16. We then moved for my dad's job at the time. I recently moved back (to co not Denver) to raise my first child here.

I live in Denver. It's a great city and Colorado is amazing. But yes the cost of living is high. More and more people are moving here and the rent prices are sky rocketing, not to mention the housing market. Really hard to find a good place at a good price if you're just making OK money. I would say you both have to at least be making 50k a year to afford it here and live nicely.
