Am I still in the running?

4 days before my period is due...I'm having pretty bad cramps. Not just twinges. Had a TINY bit of dark brown spotting (could be implantation, I know) and sore breasts. Could I still get a positive this cycle? My main concern is the severity of the cramps...they really feel exactly like period cramps.
