There is alot of controversy surrounding the hymen. Some experts even argue about rather every woman has one or not. And let's just say you had one, using a tampon or having an OBGYN exam would break it. 
The reason most girls bleed is because the penis is hitting the cervix, which is soft tissue and can bleed easily at times. It also hurts most women. When the cervix is hit.
Also if you are not really aroused you vagina may not be ready to except a penis causing micro tears along side the vaginal walls which can be painful and cause some bleeding
I suggest all women should be the one to first penetrate themselves. 
I didn't bleed my first time my BF was really gentle and it was about a half hour after we started making out and was using hands.
But the 3rd or 4th time I did. And if we rushed into it, it would hurt. This prompted me to do research and ask my OBGYN. Those are the answers I found and was told.
And the cervix can bleed quite a bit. 
So do some research and you maybe surprised by what you find.

I did because I bled all over my husband's  (then bf) blanket and the first words out of my mouth was that he ripped me open lol

I heard it rip (almost like a muffled packet of crisps being popped open) and then bled like never before (or since!). It looked like a murder scene!
