HELP! AM I BEING UNFAIR?

I'm getting induced on Wednesday (4/13/16) but my husband and I had a disagreement bc I don't want his mom at the hospital but my mom will be there. Honestly, his mom is annoying and a know it all. Plus she thinks that bc I'm younger than her son I don't know anything. I have to constantly remind her that I am grown and she doesn't have to tell me anything (not to mention this is not my first child). 
She wants to meet us at the hospital and wait in my room while I'm in labor but I don't want her anywhere near me when I'm in labor or right after bc I would be really rude to her if she says the wrong thing at a time like this. I told him that she could see the baby at the nursery or wait until after we get home decide we are ready for visitors. 
He has agreed to this bc he knows it's what I want and he cares about me being comfortable at all times during labor and delivery? Am I wrong?

I don't think you're being unfair but maybe because your mother is there, he wanted to have his mother there as well. But you do whatever is comfortable for yourself and your baby. Good luck

It's great he's supporting your decision! It's not wrong for you to not want her there during labor if she upsets you but he probably wants to show the baby off to his mom after birth. Especially if your mom will be there. What if y'all made a compromise and called her to come when the baby is almost born and wait in the waiting room. Let her come visit for a bit and have the nurses help you with a visiting time limit of maybe an hour? They could ask her to leave so you and baby can have some peace. If she upsets you before then you speak up and say you want some rest. That way both grandmothers get to meet the baby but hopefully won't be too intrusive in just an hour. Hopefully she will be so happy she won't have anything rude to say :).

No you are not. I relented and let my mother in law in the labor room because my husband wanted her support so he could better support me and it turned into am absolute cluster-f***. She wound up somehow weasels my her way into staying in the room over night with us the first night and then turned around and insulted my mother and cussed my husband out the second day while I was recovering from c-section. And I had a good relationship before hand. I wish I had followed my instinct to just have my husband and my mother there. So please follow what your gut is telling you and don't feel selfish or guilty because it could make the difference between good birth memories or nothing but drama.

I was the same way I didn't want anybody there just me and my husband but when I was in labor my mother in law ended up showing up in my room unexpectedly and I was 😠 but I told my nurse I didn't want her in my room when I was delivering she had to leave the room and wait in the waiting room but after my son was born I forgot about everything and was so happy to show him off lol
