When to start??

So... I'm 14 and not sexually active or anything, but I was wondering about starting birth control. A couple of other friends of mine have started birth control already and they said there's a lot of benefits you can get from it even if you aren't having sex, but I'm still nervous. I don't want to take this if it doesn't have positive effects, you know?? I need advice here because my mom is asking about it as well. Thank you~ 😁
