Honestly, I think it's a great representation of how much commitment breastfeeding takes and how it's not for the weak.

I think it's demonstrating a strong woman breastfeeding her babies. But I don't get shame for other moms out of it. It says 'Commit to feeding.' To me, at least, that means to commit to taking care of your baby to the best of your ability, regardless of formula or breast fed.

Equinox is a fitness company. This was part of a campaign. It's not supposed to be anti formula feeding or pro breastfeeding. Commit to something was the slogan of the whole thing.

Either way I don't see it as shaming anyone. My midwives have been telling me from day one of my pregnancy if I want  to breastfeed it's a difficult commitment that could take weeks so prepare myself for what could be a hard slog if that's the way I want to go. It's not something that comes easy to everyone and there isn't any shame in that.

I don't know... I have been breastfeeding for almost a year and even I find this kind of offensive. We had a huge struggle in the beginning so it was something I really had to commit to but that was my own personal choice. I find that this image with this caption is a little shaming and not really empowering. It could be with a better caption or no caption at all! But to me this caption hints that "you can't commit to something if you formula feed" when we don't know anyone else's reasons for not breastfeeding.

This would be a great caption for someone workout out in a gym or sitting in a class room or something like that, just not for this photo.
