Tampons not absorbing blood?

My tampons no matter what brand, no matter what size, usually always leak but when I take the tampon out-it's not completely full of blood, it's usually just bloody on one side. I've gone to the doctor for it and they can't find anything wrong with me. I use cups now so that helps but it's still not normal. Does this happen to anyone else?
