I'd never chose one. My first son was a 2 day labor face up birth. No complications, thankfully. This baby will also be vaginally born. C sections are surgeries and carry risks to the child and mother. There are situations where and emergency csection is necessary, but that's what it should be reserved for. They healing time is crazy vs vaginal, I was walking to pee unassisted 30 min after birth. Us has high high csection rates and also a really high infant/mother mortality rate. Do tons of research! Being born vaginally gives the baby the healthiest start, assuming the birth is not high risk.

thank you for sharing the information as it is true and more women should be aware that regardless of the option, it's not the best choice for baby and mommy!

my first experience was horrific and i was 20....so at 24 when baby #2 came and my doctor would do c section i was on board however now that im older and wiser and did my research im glad i have a good doctor...the risk factors for vbac are less then c section risk....i just hope my body and baby corporate....

This is well said. It's great that C's are an option, but it's worth avoiding if possible.

With my first daughter I had a vaginal but got a episiotomy and a 4th degree tear. Talking about pain. My 2nd baby we did a c-section being that I didn't want to risk tearing again. My third baby was by c-section and of course (😪) this one will be by c-section as well. The pain isn't that bad afterwards. However everyone handles pain differently. I was up walking the second day after the c-section.

Did you do elective c section? How was it? I had a rectal surgery and I think I’m going to go for elective c section as to not risk tearing my scar tissue

The recovery isn't to bad. Just make sure you get up and move around

I also had the same vaginal experience with my first born... OUCH! And am probably going to do an elective c section this time, I'm due in June. Is the recovery better?? It took me 8 months to heal down there from the 4th degree..

I had a c-section due to complications. If you have the choice I would not recommend it! A lot of people don't think of it this way bc it's so common, but it's a very serious abdominal surgery! Extremely painful recovery! It's was hard bringing home a newborn when you can't even sit up on your own! I know some women have hardly no problems and are completely fine after but not me haha! I'm going to try and VBAC this time around!

I had an emergency c section almost 12years ago after 24hours of labor and my son going into distress....i had a horrible labor and a rough recocery...but he is a happy almost 12yr d now...then i had a repeat c section with my 2nd son 7years ago bc the doctor thought that was best..recovery was easier bc it was a planned c section with no labor. However i am 39wkspregnant now and have found a doctor that's supporting my vbac decsion and i am greatful to be able to try and have a natural birth:) i only want a c section if absolutely necessary....

Thank you guys for all your responses. I am prego due in Dec according to my LMP. This is my 8th pregnancy and hopefully be my 6th child. I've had c sections and the Dr I chose this time is an excellent surgeon...so whether vbac or repeat c section I'll be in good hands.

Yes. I've had two. It was awful enough seeing as I tried to give birth naturally , that my husband and I are planning a homebirth. Neithwr c section was medically necessary, as many of rhem aren't. Therefore my risks are very low. Lower than having a repeat. I struggled with depression after giving birth due to the qay my labors turned out. I'll never do it again unless I must for my or babys sake!
