When should you start having your baby sleep in its own room?

With me until 2- he made her own easy smooth transition to her own bed (: why would you force a baby to cry when they want your cuddles and make them sleep alone ? Makes NO sense

I'm not  going to have mine in my room at all. That's what my baby monitor is for.

My daughter slept in a bassinet in my room for almost 2 months. Then she went into her own room in her crib.

He'll be sleeping with me for a couple of months then he'll be in his own room

They recommend after 6 months...due to risk of SIDS.

6 weeks before it will sleep alone. At that point I want to be working towards sleeping through the night

When ever you feel is right. I originally thought I would have him for a few months at least in my room. Turned out 5.5 weeks was my max. This time may be sooner or about the same length of time.
