Producing milk already?

Question

I'm 26 weeks, but am already leaking like crazy. Like, a LOT. I'm wondering, should I just let it be? Or is it worth pumping to start saving? Has this happened to anyone else?

Don't pump. You could induce labor and the first milk that comes in is supposed to be colostrum the baby will get that when its born

Your not producing milk yet, it's colostrum. Your body won't produce milk until you deliver the placenta. If your not high risk for preterm labor, there isn't any reason you can't occasionally pump and save the colostrum. That being said obviously if you start to cramp or have contractions you should stop. It's no different then breastfeeding while pregnant which has been proven safe if mother isn't high risk for preterm labor. I just weaned my son and I'm 26 weeks pregnant, around 34 weeks I'll pump to get a few ounces (like 2-4) saved for this baby incase she has blood sugar problems (I have GD with my pregnancies) I suggest collecting it and freezing in syringes (sterilized) and then labeling them, that is the easiest was to feed a newborn without causing nipple confusion
