Microchipping Your Child??

Question

Ok. So.. I'm watching SVU (Law and Order) and this specific episode is on putting a microchip in their adopted daughters arm because their blood daughter was kidnapped and was never found. Just like a pets, it has all medical information and exact location when searched through the system. I've actually read about people doing this to their children. Would you do this?? Even if it could reunite you with your kidnapped child or teenage run away.. just curious. I thought it would make a good convo.. Let me know your thoughts.

To answer your question, I would not microchip my child. I think it's a huge violation of their body. I'd also be worried about the potential for hacking or something

I feel that is a huge invasion of the government. While, it would help find children who are kidnapped, what about the sickos who would try and cut it out? I can see it going horribly wrong.

I understand and see how it could be an amazing benefit for missing children or keeping up with your children when they're older, I just cant help but feel that it's the governments way of keeping up with us. Another way that is. I just don't like it. Also risking that they're body doesn't accept it and cause infection etc? Nope lol

Oh I sooo would. Then when they get to HS age I would have a discussion with them about if they wanted to have it removed or left in for emergency purposes. I would respect their wishes at that age. 
But when they're babies and little kids?? Oh HELL YES I would!

I wouldn't microchip my child, but I would microchip a bracelet or necklace or something similar. I would tell her about it though and would only ever use it in emergencies, too many creeps running around these days to not try everything to keep them safe, obviously if she was to say no I wouldn't do it because her right to privacy comes first.

Hey i remember that episode. The littl girl ran away witj someone she met online and got caught at the train station.They found the real daughter  in some pig ass man house i think out in the woods kinda. She was all grown. But yeah i wouldn't id rather use some other type of tracker. Lol its sad ive watched all the episodes and still remember them XD

No I don't think I would. Things like that can be hacked, they can migrate or someone could try to cut it out. Way too many ways for it to go wrong. And while I understand the reasoning behind it, it just doesn't seem very ethical.
