Belly rings during pregnancy

Question for ladies whose navels are pierced: what material is best for belly rings during pregnancy? I'm not sure whether I should go with plastic, or titanium. I have sensitive skin already (allergic to most metals including surgical steel) but now that I'm pregnant it's even more sensitive around my belly button and the ring that has worked for months, is starting to itch. Any tips? Thanks!
